Torre de Sa Sal Rossa, IBIZA
The Torre de Sa Sal Rossa, also known as Torre Carregador, sits on a headland just south of Playa d’en Bossa and 8 km from Ibiza Town.
It was built in the 16th century as a defence tower to protect the entrance to the city from the south and was refurbished in the 18th century. The Torre de Sa Sal Rossa is 13m high and is located within Las Salinas National Park. The coast around the tower is ragged running into clear, turquoise water, with fishermen’s huts located along the water’s edge.
The area around the Torre de Sa Sal Rossa is both picturesque and unspoilt with few visitors even in the height of the season.
