Cala Talamanca, IBIZA
Talamanca is one of the largest bays in Ibiza in a peaceful location with stunning soft white sand and clear, shallow water.
A wooden promenade runs the length of the beach with bars and restaurants adjacent to the walkway. Despite being popular, it’s still easy not to feel crowded here during the high season and it’s a relaxing place to spend time in the sun. Talamanca’s proximity to Ibiza Town also makes it an ideal base if you want to relax by day and party by night.

WIND & SWELL
This is a wide bay and approach is relatively easy. Beware of winds from the South and South East which make it uncomfortable when navigating your way through the many boats that choose to anchor here.
ANCHORING / SEABED
This large, open bay has a long sandy beach at its head which is shallow with some reefs. Anchoring should be with care north of Punta Sa Taberna in 3-6m over sand and weed. With careful sounding a spot can also be found further north in the centre of the inlet.
MOORING BUOYS
Some buoys are in place supporting reasonable sized yachts but their status is unknown.
DINGHY ACCESS
Landing should be at a small dock in front of the Hotel Argos in the NW corner of the cove where a dinghy can be left.
BEACHES
Talamanca has a long, curved beach with beautiful soft white sand and clear, shallow water – perfect for swimming. A few metres from shore you will find an area of Posidonia, underwater plants that lie beneath the surface of the Mediterranean, which help to clean the water. Its shallow water and beautiful sand make it popular with tourists and locals. The beach is a safe, calm location which is also used by nudists.
Lifeguards, toilets (including disabled), disabled access into the water under supervision of the lifeguards with amphibious wheelchair, showers and lockers (between June and September) are all available here. Pets are allowed on the beach on weekdays from November until Easter excluding bank holidays.
FOOD & DRINK
There is a great variety of bars and restaurants here ranging from beach huts to hotels with restaurants, so something to suit all tastes and budgets. Local dishes, seafood, paella, tapas, Asian, Lebanese and Italian cuisine are all on offer with some places delivering food and drink to your sunbeds. The various eateries are popular with locals too ensuring good quality and variety, with some being open all year round.
SHOPPING
There are no shops or supermarkets in Talamanca. However, the village of Jesus is a 15 minute walk away with its cafes, bars, restaurants, banks and supermarkets. Ibiza Town, also a 15 minute walk away, also has a wide variety of shops etc.
THINGS TO DO
There is a wide variety of activities at this beach between June and September including pedalos, jet skis, kayaking and beach yoga. Sun beds and parasols can be hired at reasonable cost.
ROAD ACCESS
The links to this beach are excellent by bus, car and ferry from Ibiza Town. It’s only 2 km from Ibiza Town so around a 15 minute walk if you fancy some exercise, though care should be taken during July and August when it’s extremely hot and another mode of transport might be preferable. Parking close to the beach is available though it can be a bit more difficult to find in high season.
